insturctions:
how to watch youtube videos on your ppc ?

1. download tcpmp rc1 & FlashVideoBundle.cab
2. install tcpmp rc1 then FlashVideoBundle on you ppc. (notice that you should remove old tcpmp if you already has it. and both tcpmp rc1 and FlashVideoBundle should install on same memory,either your ppc memory or memory card)
3. go to NORMAL(not mobile version) youtube.com site.
4. click on the video thumbnail picture, you should see “play video”,”save video” and “linked video”
5. then choose “play video”, video stream will open on tcpmp

tested on ACER n300 with Windows Mobile 5.
works fine !!!

del.icio.us plugin for pocket ie

引頸期盼的東西終於出來了，就是del.icio.us plugin for Pocket Internet Explorer，感謝這位作者，有了他就可以在pocket ie上把網站加到 del.icio.us去了，真棒！

安裝
1.點我下載
2.把 cab 檔丟到 ppc 裡執行（記得關閉 pocket ie）
3.完成

第一次使用的時候會出現輸入帳號密碼的欄位！
依序填進去就好了。

XnView for PPC

XnView 是一個電腦上瀏覽照片的軟體，其實它的功能很多，例如：轉檔、修圖、更名、序列編輯等等，早在很久以前我就把它拿來替代那「貴桑桑」的 ACDSee，因為它效能不錯而且是 Freeware。

其實它也有PPC的版本，上面的功能也不俗，一些基本看圖、轉檔、編輯、郵寄圖片功能都有，我最喜歡的是抓圖功能，內建的抓圖功能可以預設1-10秒後抓圖，可以利用這10秒內的時間換到要抓圖的畫面，然後 XnView 會自動抓圖，圖檔會存在「我的圖片」裡，有兩種格式可以選擇（JPG or PNG），有了這功能就不用另外裝特殊的程式來抓圖了。

RSS Reader for PPC

這篇要介紹一下我最近試用的四個 RSS Reader for PPC，主要是自己的使用感想和功能比較，測試平台是Windows Mobile 5 on Acer N300，另外，不要跟我要快樂檔。

這四個 Reader 分別是：
*Spb Insight Version 1.5
*Egress Version 3.0
*NewsBreak Version 2.0.0.1051
*pRSSreader Version 1.3.3 (freeware)
要比較的功能了有包含圖片離線閱讀、標記、排序、快取條件、關鍵字等等，文末有詳細的說明。

PDA & PPC Comparison

這是關於PDA和PPC的比較，之前常搞不清楚這兩種東西差在哪裡，以為PDA=PPC，其實PDA的領域很廣，其中也包含了PPC，詳細如下：

PDA 是 Personal digital assistant 的簡寫，泛指一切便於攜帶的數位個人助理，這裡面包括有個人助理功能的手機、筆記型電腦和Pocket PC，以下取自wikipedia：

Personal digital assistants (PDAs) are handheld computers that were originally designed as personal organizers, but became much more versatile over the years. PDAs are also known as pocket computers or palmtop computers. PDAs have many uses: calculation, use as a clock and calendar, playing computer games, accessing the Internet, sending and receiving E-mails, video recording, typewriting and word processing, use as an address book, making and writing on spreadsheets, use as a radio or stereo, and Global Positioning System (GPS). Newer PDAs also have both color screens and audio capabilities, enabling them to be used as mobile phones (smartphones), web browsers, or portable media players. PPC是Pocket PC的簡寫，PPC是指安裝了特定版本Windows系統的掌上型電腦（PC），雖然PPC有可能運行Linux or BSD，不過現在依然是以Windows Mobile為主流，以下取自wikipedia：

A Pocket PC, abbreviated P/PC or PPC, is a specification for a handheld-sized computer (Personal digital assistant) that runs a specific version of the Windows CE operating system. It may have the capability to run an alternative operating system like NetBSD or Linux. It has many of the capabilities of modern desktop PCs.

Currently there are thousands of applications for handhelds adhering to the Microsoft Pocket PC specification, many of which are freeware. Some of these devices also include mobile phone features. Microsoft compliant Pocket PCs can also be used with many other add-ons like GPS receivers, barcode readers, RFID readers, and cameras.

另外， Microsoft 對 Pocket PC 的定義：

the Pocket PC is “a handheld device that enables users to store and retrieve e-mail, contacts, appointments, tasks, play multimedia files, games, exchange text messages with Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger), browse the Web, and more.” (src: microsoft buyersguide)

根據M$社的習慣，說不定他們註冊了Pocket PC這個詞勒…
整個覺得豁然開朗，Wikipedia真是好東西。

注意：
必須連上網路才有辦法使用，它會即時去抓圖下來顯示。

使用心得：
歐美部份看得到街道和衛星圖，台灣部份只看的到衛星圖（根據上一篇，線上的Google Maps不是已經有街道了嗎？），可以搜尋地名、放大縮小地圖、連接GPS？、設定起始點和結束點計算距離、找business，功能算陽春，使用上還算順暢，希望可以加入記憶地點和kml之類的功能。

pPod – Turn Your Pocket Pc Into An Ipod!

正在看ipod發展史，突然想到，不知道有沒有人做出PPC模擬ipod的程式，pda既然有一塊蠻大塊的觸控面板，這種東西應該是不難做出來。

果然，很久以前有個程式叫pPod，可以把你的pda變成第一代的ipod，其實就是模擬ipod的interface來播放和控制mp3檔案，老實說我覺得這個還蠻kuso的XD，裝來玩玩。

WiFiTunes – Wifi Music Player for your PPC

如何把ppc變成wifi music player？

首先必須準備：
*有wifi的ppc一台，ppc 2003 or WM5皆可。
*WiFiTunes 程式 – 下載 CAB or Installer。
*裝好iTunes 6的電腦一台，注意iTunes 7並不支援。
*一台不錯的AP。

接下來：

• 開啟iTunes匯入你的mp3，然後進入編輯->喜好設定->共享->勾選「共享我的音樂」，「共享名稱」隨便填。
• 把pda上的WiFiTunes裝好（在這之前你可能必須先安裝.NET CF)，並確認ppc已經連上AP。
• 啟動WiFiTunes，點選Library下載iTunes裡的曲目。
• 戴上耳機，享受你的無線音樂

你可能會遇到的問題：

• iTunes有for windows的版本，不要以為非Mac就不能用iTunes。
• 防火牆可能會擋住iTunes的共享功能，要做個別設定。
• 抓不到Library？！點選「add library by ip」，輸入電腦ip位置。
• WiFiTunes的曲目無法更新？！點選「clear library cache」，下一次連線就會取得最新的曲目了。
